Search Tips

To search this directory, simply enter the applicable information in one or more of the data entry fields provided. Example: You may enter their last name and first name or only their last name. If you wish, you may select the name of a Department from the drop-down list or leave the default to search the entire directory. To complete the operation, click on the Search button.

This will return a list of all individuals matching the criteria you entered. Once you have located the individual you are looking for, you can click on their name and this will provide you with additional details (if available) on that individual.

Please note:

  • There are NO wildcard characters. The search is designed to search on whatever you type in and compare it to the information in the system. Thus, if you type in 'Smith' you will get a list of all the Smith's, but if you type in 'S', you would get a list of all the names starting with S (i.e. Smith, Spears, Simpson, etc.)
  • The search is not case sensitive. The search will return all entries matching your search criteria.
  • Results will be returned in groups of 10 per page. In the event that more than 10 entries match your search criteria, if the individual you are searching for doesn't appear on the first page, simply go to the following page until you find their listing.
  • To start a new search, simply click on the Home link in the left hand border.

Organizational Structure

It is also possible to search a Department's organizational structure by selecting a Department form the Department drop down list. This will automatically load the Division drop down with the list of Divisions that belong to the specific Department. From there a complete list of contacts belonging to the Department can be returned by selecting search or the search can be further refined by entering additional search criteria such as last name, title etc.

  1. What's in this directory?

The On-Line Government Telephone Directory is a service provided by the Planning and Accommodations Division of the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure which is responsible for the provision of telecommunications services and the publication of this directory.

It has been developed to help you contact the proper government employees more efficiently by providing you with a searchable directory of their contact information.

This directory contains telephone, title, postal address, and other public information related to government employees.

There is also a Government Frequently called numbers page.

  2. Why Can't I find xyz?

In order to ensure that those employees that require privacy can maintain it, this directory will only list information that is known to be already published. This will be the case until such time as the mechanisms are in place and consent is given to provide additional information.

You may also experience problems if you do not have an updated version of an Internet Web Browser (see item # 3 below).

  3. What versions of Internet Web Browsers are supported; Why are the Search Results Blank or indicate a script error?

The On-Line Government Telephone Directory has been tested and confirmed to work with the following Internet Web Browsers (assuming Cookies are Accepted by the Browser).

    • Mozilla Firefox -- Versions 3.x and above
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer -- Versions 6.x and above

If you are using an older version of one of these browsers, or another product, (or have Disallowed the acceptance of Cookies)  we cannot guarantee that the On-Line Search Function will work as expected.

Check your version of Web Browser and if it is a lower version than that indicated above, you should upgrade. This will enable you to use the On-Line Search function with this Web Site, and more importantly, greatly enhance your overall Internet experience.

You should also ensure that your browser is configured to accept "Cookies".
